The new year is hear and make no mistake, 2010 will be another year filled with more superhero excitement. In the next two weeks, THOR will begin shooting. This is one that i've had mixed feelings about. Don't get me wrong, anyone that can go toe to toe with the Hulk to a standstill, is cool in my book. Although Marvel has made an odd choice with a director (Kenneth Brannagh) I am confident that he will be the man to do the job. I had the same concerns when I heard Jon Favreau for Iron Man and look how that turned out! I will be trying to update this daily but if not absolutely weekly!

The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Filming begins this month. Rumor has it that there will be references that will set up the eventual "The Avengers" film.
Kevin Feige president of Marvel Studios gave a brief update about the status of Thor and had this to say: "To be honest the thing that I’m most excited about right now though, is the screen test we just finished for “Thor.” We’ve done some costume tests and watching the Asgardians walk onto the sound stage takes me back to that first time I saw the X-Men on the set all together in Toronto. Only it was unlike anything we’ve ever put on film before! It’s great to be starting the next decade in such an exciting way just as we did last decade. We’re really redefining the comic book genre and what a Marvel movie can be. It’s going to be great!" (Thanks to the great Frosty over at Collider.com for the quote!)
